'Ocean Race - Around Australia for the Kids'

Australia's 'Tour de France' on the water - supporting sick, disadvantaged and needy Kids

Update 02 January 2012

The interest in a yacht race around Australia is extremelly high. We have many followers of this event ready to compete. Our work over many months has been to establish the event on a solid foundation to secure it long into the future.

We have made considerable progress. We have secured our cornerstone stakeholder and funder. The event funding model requires other stakeholders to come on board and this is work-in-progress.

We continue to work towards this aim, with event two in 2015 to coincide with the Anzac Centenary Commemoration. We are inviting other nations to be part of this symbolic occasion, including neighboring navies and their Tall Ships.

Confirming that we are an event for 'Category One' monohull and multihull race boats. We have a cruising division for monohull and multihull boats. Multiple start port options. Multiple stop-over ports. Crew changes permissible.

Underlying all of our intentions for the event is to provide a service to sick, disadvantaged and needy kids in Australia and in the countries represented by competitors in the event.

Many thanks for your ongoing patience, interest and encouragement. It is much appreciated. Bob Williams, Ocean Events bob@sailaroundaustralia.com.au .
